Where do I start? Well we shall go back to the beginning of time where the dinosaurs roamed the earth and Shooters were still clunky and low frames. Ahhhh the good old days; my gaming career started on the N94 when I was 5 Years old in 1999. I didn’t know what I was doing but I was still having fun playing it at my friends house. We would stay up all night playing and then eventually I was given an XBOX the classic holy grail of console. The controller was too big for my childish hands so I had to adopt a newer style of playing called “Claw”. Halo 2 was my game, and if i must admit I peaked in that game I was so good in it compared how I play in games now… Well we all have to move on at some point right?! Well instead of me pursuing a professional player career in esports I instead wanted to help the players who were good enough to play that didn’t have the chances they should have had. So thus Orion eSports was born; where we are trying to give opportunities to well deserving players, streamers, and content creators.
Speaking of CONTENT did I mention that I am a streamer and I was a streamer before I was a *cough* HEAD OF INDUSTRY *cough*? Well I was and I still am! Well hello there people welcome to the Stream, sorry I get confused on when I’m steaming and when I’m not FeelsBad. Streaming is my hobby now as that eSports has consumed my life and try to stream every chance I get. I may not be the best but well that’s not why the people come around. It’s more or less to come and see me die and make fun of me. So next time you are bored and I’m streaming you should come and try it out!
My name is Noe “Cypher” Roman and I currently work as a graphic designer for Orion. I was born on October in 1999 and starting gaming since I was 4 years old and got my first computer when I was 12. I started doing graphic design when I was 14 years old and taught myself through tutorials and experimenting. I am still learning and working with Orion is a great opportunity to test myself and grow alongside with the organization.
When I first started gaming I started with the traditional Nintendo games like The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario 64. When I was a small kid I grew up on Nintendo, it’s what my dad played so of course I picked up the games he played. Once I hit about 8 or 9 I started branching out to other games on the Xbox and Playstation such as the Fatal Frame series and the Resident Evil games. Eventually when I was 12 I got a computer and just like any kid I started with Minecraft. Eventually I moved over to CS:GO when I was about 14. I played the game casually for about a year before I got into competitive tournaments. I played in ESEA Seasons and a few Twitter tournaments including Carbon X, Kiwi League, and Skyward League. Now I just play the game for fun and a whole bunch of other games including PUBG, Rainbow 6, Paladins, and Rocket League.
Outside of my online life, I graduated from High School in the year 2018. I studied 4 years of TV Broadcast and competed in Arizona State’s SkillsUSA Television Video Production competetion with 56 other teams and won 1st place. I went on to compete in Nationals where I competed against the top Film Makers in the USA. I also play a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh (I’m aware its very nerdy) for fun and even go to tournaments in my region.
My name’s EpicBlossom. I am the General Manager here at Orion eSports. I am the one who makes the website look so good, the discord organized, influences social media, marketing, and sponsorship hunter! You can say I do it all around here, but these guys are here helping a lot of people and kids trying to succeed at their dreams so I’m glad to help…. They better pay me soon though; or I’m going on STRIKE! XD.
Orion has grown a lot since I first saw it when I came into Nerd’s Stream (Oops I mean Nerfed! Sorry! Not Really.). I have helped organize a lot, we still have a bunch of work to do. This will always be changing the issues and challenges we need to face during the expansion of Orion.
I am still new to eSports but I am having a lot of fun and I hope to learn a lot more over the months and years with everyone!
My name’s Kyle, but I usually go by Yams, FreshlyBoiledYams (Twitch), or Yammy. I’m also Ben’s cousin, an executive here at Orion! I am currently a Discord mod for Orion Esports, and you’ll find me usually popping in and out of the chats of our talented streamers who are live on Twitch pretty much daily! Along with helping the community grow socially, I am a rising animator in his final years of high school who is creating an art portfolio to showcase my ever-growing skills. I am on the art team here at Orion, and I’m usually collaborating with the streamers of the group to help them out with any streaming necessities they might need when it comes to GIFS, short animations, intros, etc.
My gaming years started back in 2010 when I would sit in my mothers’ office playing Minesweeper and Spore. As I got older, FPS shooters never really stuck with me, besides one Valve game that I still play to this day, Team Fortress 2. These were the years of prime gaming for me, and I look back with nostalgia from all of the good times I shared with friends in PUBs. Times changed, and I mostly play realistic shooters now such as Insurgency, Insurgency Sandstorm, and Escape from Tarkov. As for my personal life, I am extremely athletic, playing 3 seasonal sports every year.
I am a music student who has loved expressing myself through rhythm since I was young. I play the saxophone, bass/guitar, and piano! If you ever meet me in Orion, don’t be afraid to start talking to me about music genres or artists, as I love to converse with others and develop my music taste. Anyways, thanks for stopping by! Our friendly community is growing exponentially, and I hope you enjoy your stay. ~Yams
I’m the grandpa of the group as far gaming goes. I’m pushing the big 4-0 and grew up in the “Nintendo Hard” days. The days before the internet, where you needed a copy of Nintendo Power to get tips on how to beat bosses, or GamePro for the list of Mortal Kombat fatalities. The days when if a game was published by EA meant it was going to be great (RIP). My PC gaming life started with titles such as Wolfenstein 3D, Simcity, Doom, Quake and Descent. I also had a multi-monitor setup before it “was cool” to play Microsoft Flight sim. It wasn’t until Unreal Tournament that I got the Sniper nickname. I racked up 2000 kills with the sniper rifle in one sitting on the Facing Worlds map.The Sniper moniker would follow me through my teenage years though other games such as CS (1.2/1.6; I skipped the Source years), Battlefield 1942, 2, and 3, and eventually off the screen into paintball and firearm marksmanship.
I still love gaming. I played Counter-Strike when it was a Half-Life mod, and it’s the game, even after a triple A title comes out, that I still go back to. I got hooked on the pro scene a couple of years ago. I don’t really have a favorite team, I just love watching well-played CS. Having ditched cable TV back in 2012, I found myself watching twitch for background noise, and with that, lots of counter-strike. In January 2018 I was able to go to the E-League Major in Boston. It was an amazing experience, I felt like a teenager again and met some really cool people, I connected with Nerfed shortly after that in a Discord of people that were at the major.
I checked out his Twitch stream and was taken in by his passion for gaming and chill personality. I believe in his dream to run a successful professional gaming organization, and I help out whenever I can.
If I’m not in Nerfed’s Twitch chat you’ll find me touring the other Orion streamers. When I need a break from gaming I’m in my workshop tinkering, I’m an arcade game buff and I want to build a couple cabinets so at the moment i’m honing that skillset with smaller woodworking projects, and yes, the Orion streamers keep me company in the workshop as well.
